This event is lot of fun and a great way to get in extra camping and experience a real Boy Scout camp. This is not a Pack sponsored event, but those who are going can camp together!
If you are attending the Rocket Academy, here are some things you should be aware of or need to bring:
- Make sure you have very comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots! There is some walking involved, especially to the shooting ranges. The terrain is mostly dirt and rock.
- Bring a small backpack! You will need it to carry your stuff in as you are out and about collecting things at the various events.
- Pack some snacks for your backpack.
- Bring a water bottle or canteen for your backpack and plenty of water! Not all water sources there are year round. It's best to bring your own.
- Make sure you have bug spray and sunscreen. Hats are also a great idea.
- The covered latrines in the campsites are NOT flush toilets with running water. Wet wipes are STRONGLY recommended! They have flush toilets at the dining hall.
- A folding table is an excellent suggestion for your campsite if you have one.
